A collaboration with DesignByThem, where they have created custom recycled plastic seating exclusive to the virtual library. The seamless chair design fits comfortably within the space.
Bespoke joinery - a custom felt listening pod. The soundproofing qualities of felt allows a successful experience within the pod that allows optimal listening time, with no external distractions.
The Sundae Lounge Chair by DesignByThem is a seamless and comfortable seating option that will be featured within the listening pod.
Australian designer Joslin Koolen has designed “illuminated lines” an LED lighting system that creates a sense of connection and unity.
ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING STRATEGY --
Lighting is an important aspect of the Virtual Library. Varying activities require appropriate lighting for optimal use. Lighting within this space includes task, concealed and decorative lighting in the form of wall and recessed lighting. With a mix of yellow and white LED lighting, to allow purpose and intrigue within the space. LED is the suitable lighting solution as they use 75% less energy when compared to incandescent lighting. The energy used by all lighting within the site, will be generated through solar panels that will be fixed to the roof of the Boiler House.
